The Nikon website recently posted a short notice regarding the financial forecast. The manufacturer revised its expectations regarding the results of Nikon’s fiscal year ending March 31.
The previous forecast, released on November 5, said revenue would be ¥ 430 billion, an operating loss of ¥ 75 billion, a pre-tax loss of ¥ 70 billion, and a net loss of ¥ 50 billion.
The new forecast takes into account the disposal and write-off of certain warehouse stocks that cannot be used. They belong to the precision equipment division.
Taking into account the write-off, revenue will amount to 450 billion yen, an operating loss of 65 billion yen, a loss before taxes of 60 billion yen, and a net loss of 42 billion yen.
For comparison, the manufacturer provides figures for the previous financial year. Revenue then amounted to 591.01 billion yen, operating profit – 6.75 billion yen, profit before taxes – 11.86 billion yen, and net profit – 6.69 billion yen.
