Nina Silva: South and Southeast concentrate more than 70% of investments on the Stock Exchange

The CNN Expert in Technology, Entrepreneurship and Diversity, Nina Silvacommented this Friday (18th) on the data of Brazilian investors on B3, the official Brazilian stock exchange, based in São Paulo.

“B3 reached the mark of 5 million investor accounts in January 2022. But what is the profile of these new entrants? The number is divided between 1.2 million accounts for women and 3.8 million accounts for men,” said Silva.

“As for the regions of Brazil, there is a concentration in the South and Southeast. The states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais have 56.7% of total investments. Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul represent about 17%”, detailed the specialist.

“The rest of Brazil is left with around 25% representation, another example of poor distribution of income, infrastructure and lack of quality of life in the states of the Northeast and North of the country.”

Nina Silva also highlighted another aspect about these individual investors: the first investments in variable income are made with increasingly lower values.

“[Isso é] a move that demonstrates that the exchange can be accessed by different types of investors and different types of income.”
