Nine of the ten members of the Board of Directors of electrobras presented a letter of resignation this Saturday (18). The company has recently gone through a capitalization process.
The company published a “material fact” to communicate the waiver.
The nine will remain in office until the new directors take office, who must be elected at the Extraordinary General Meeting.
Rodrigo Limp resigned as director, but not as company president.
Eletrobras’ Board of Directors is composed of eleven members, but one position is vacant. Of the ten current directors, the only one not to resign represents the company’s employees.
In the resignation letter, the directors classified the capitalization process as “historic and successful”.
“It remains evident that it is now up to this Board of Directors, after profound and effective contributions to the process, to ensure that the new corporate structure – defined without the figure of a controlling shareholder – will form a new collegiate body”, they say.
