Nine states report no Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours

Nine states did not record Covid-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to a survey by CNN Agency held this Monday (8): Acre, Amapá, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Piauí, Rondônia, Roraima, São Paulo and Sergipe.

Maranhão, Mato Grosso do Sul and Santa Catarina registered only one death. Alagoas, Amazonas, Ceará, Pará, Rio Grande do Norte and Tocantins registered two deaths.

This was the first time that São Paulo did not record deaths from the disease caused by the coronavirus, although the average recorded on Monday is always lower due to underreporting at the weekend. The total number of deaths in the state, therefore, remains at 152,527.

Acre has been 13 days without registering any deaths by Covid-19.

Brazil registered the third lowest number of deaths since April 2020, with 126 deaths in the last 24 hours. The number is only behind the 1st and 7th of November, when 98 and 57 deaths were reported, respectively. In total, the country registers 609,573 deaths by Covid-19, according to the latest survey by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass).

With 5,638 cases in the last 24 hours, Brazil has 21,886,077 confirmed infections since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020.
