Ninety arrested for armed attack on Istanbul Courthouse

The number of arrests of suspects in relation to her has reached ninety armed attack yesterday, Tuesday, at the Istanbul Courthouse.

Police investigations are being conducted under the supervision of the General Prosecutor's Office of Istanbul. The perpetrators of the attack and those arrested are linked by the Turkish authorities to the far-left armed organization “Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front” (DHKP/C).

Yesterday at 11:46 am local time (10:45 Greek time), two armed men attempted to pass through the Police checkpoint, at the entrance of the Courthouse.

During the exchange of gunfire, a civilian who was at the scene was killed, as well as the perpetrators of the attack, a man and a woman.

According to Interior Minister Ali Gerlikaya, they were members of the DHKP/C, an organization with extensive armed activity in the past.

During the clash, five other people were injured, three of them police officers.
