The Nintendo Switch game console was officially released on March 3, 2017, it will soon celebrate its fifth anniversary. According to the latest figures, the sales revenue of Nintendo Switch-related products is approaching $60 billion.
Set-top box revenue was $33.16 billion, or 55% of total revenue. Software revenue was $26.63 billion, accounting for 45% of total revenue. Nintendo has sold 766.41 million copies of Switch games.

The company has sold more than 100 million Switch consoles, including 81.68 million Switch, 17.87 million Switch Lite and 3.99 million Switch OLED. Nintendo’s fourth-quarter financial report shows that Switch game console sales reached 103.54 million units, successfully surpassing the original Wii’s 101.63 million units. Having surpassed the sales of the first Sony PlayStation, Nintendo stated that the next target for the Switch is the Sony PlayStation 4. Current sales of the Nintendo Switch are 13.77 million units less than the PS4 (116.58 million units). Next comes the Nintendo DS and the world’s best-selling game console is the Sony PS2 with a total sales of around 158 million units.
The Nintendo Switch sold 34.67 million units in the US, 27.22 million in Europe and 23.43 million in Japan. 5.21 million consoles were bought in the UK, 6.11 million in France and 5.93 million in Germany.
In other news, a man has been jailed for three years for pirating Nintendo Switch games and must pay Nintendo $14.5 million.
