The ninth repatriation flight for Brazilians who are in Israel should take off late Sunday morning (22) towards Ben-Gurion airport, in Tel Aviv.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that there is no prospect of sending new aircraft for Operation Returning in Peace, as the airport operates regularly. The Itamaraty’s recommendation is that Brazilians who can afford it buy air tickets and return to Brazil on commercial flights.
Just before 11 am this Saturday (21), the seventh repatriation flight landed in Rio de Janeiro. The KC-390 aircraft carried 69 passengers, three of whom were Bolivian, and nine pets.
A number of countries had requested Brazil’s assistance in repatriating foreigners, but it was only possible to comply with the Bolivian request.
The plane had taken off in Tel Aviv this Friday (20), at 6:02 pm local time.
The Brazilian government is awaiting the departure of the 30 nationals and their relatives from the Gaza Strip in order to bring them back to the country. There is a plane provided by the Presidency of the Republic in Cairo waiting for authorization for Brazilians to enter Egypt.
