Last week, Nissan announced the suspension of deliveries of cars to Russia due to problems with logistics, and at the same time the shutdown of its own plant in St. Petersburg was not ruled out. And now, according to the RIA Novosti news agency, Nissan has announced a halt to production in the coming days.

“Regarding activities in Russia, the export of cars to Russia has already been stopped, in the coming days it is planned to stop the plant in St. Petersburg“, the message says. Also, the automaker will provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 2.5 million euros.
The Nissan plant in St. Petersburg began work in 2009; the company produces X-Trail, Murano, Qashqai and Terrano models. The capacity is 100 thousand cars per year, and the number of employees is about 2 thousand people.
