From a young journalist juggling not to reach the end of the month in the red to an influencer with more than a million followers closing jobs at BRL 40,000. All this because Raisa Guerra decided to turn passion into content for the internet: create – and teach how to create – affordable pieces and decor items to give “personality” to any environment – following the wave of “Do It Yourself”, which was already strong outside Brazil.
From the initial idea of the blog “Mania de Decoration”, back in 2012, to the turn “from day to night” in 2020, the journey was long, but it was worth it. It took a few years for the journalist – and later decorator – to decide to stop writing as a “hobbie” to start professionalizing the content.
And the little push that was needed came from her husband: “I got married in 2019 (…) he encouraged me to leave my job because he believed in the potential of Mania. I joke that he had a ‘business vision,’” Ráisa told Leandro Munhos on the #40 episode of the No Lucro CNN podcast.
The pandemic boom
Decoration has an unconscious impact on life, you have to feel good after a stressful day. In the pandemic, we felt the importance of this
Accustomed to organic growth, the influencer did not expect the exponential leap that her name would have in the pandemic, as with other brands and businesses: “She [a pandemia] it was terrible, but people didn’t leave and realized the importance of turning a house into a “home”. Ráisa revealed to the podcast that it was at that time that consolidated brands began to seek her out, and established solid partnerships that still remain.
learning to invest
Despite admitting that she is still “conservative” when it comes to investing, the journalist told No Lucro that she is focused on learning to get out of the “basics” and that she is also trying to lead her family down the same path: “They are still afraid, I I try to convince. In their minds, they need savings. It’s hard to get out of your comfort zone.”
CNN In Profit Podcast
The No Profit podcast is available in video on Youtube by CNN Brasil Soft and on the main audio platforms, with new episodes every Thursday, starting at 7 pm. The “No Profit CNN” profile is also live on Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.
Fleeing from the technical language and jargon of the economics area, popularly called “economês”, the program will not be restricted to specialists, as it will also receive celebrities, influencers and people who are behind successful businesses in the most diverse areas. The idea is to show different points of view on entrepreneurship, personal finance, management, investments and economics.
The videocast is part of the “No Profit by CNN Soft” platform, launched in March, the result of a strategic partnership between CNN Brasil and Banco Santander.
