Yesterday, February 9, Nintendo held its first online Direct event of the year, during which many interesting projects for the Switch handheld console were announced. But among all these announcements, there are two projects that will interest gamers the most. First, representatives of the Japanese company said that this summer the popular open-world space action No Man’s Sky will be available to Nintendo Switch fans. It is worth recalling that it took the authors of the video game six years after the official release to adapt their project for a portable console.
Probably, the main difficulties of the port of No Man’s Sky on Switch were the formation of a virtual open world – the power of this console is significantly inferior to the platforms on which the game was launched earlier, and the developers obviously had to work hard to optimize the release. Unfortunately, the developers have not yet announced the exact date, and the cost of the Switch version has not been specified either – more information will appear closer to summer. Second, handheld gamers won’t have to buy a Steam Deck to enjoy classic Valve games away from PC – Valve has officially announced that Portal and Portal 2 will be coming to the Japanese handheld console very soon.

These games will be sold in a collection called Portal: Companion Collection for $20, but again, no one has yet announced the exact release date. But Valve employees said that gamers will have access to a single-player campaign in both puzzle games, and Portal 2 will also support co-op mode – both local split-screen into two parts, and multiplayer. Great news for fans of one of the best puzzle franchises ever.
