No more mourning for Queen Elizabeth: She returned to her duties after the death of Prince Philip

The Queen Elizabeth II returned to her royal duties just four days after his death Duke of Edinburgh, on the occasion of the retirement of a senior Buckingham official, as reported by Guardian. The old monarch attended a ceremony at Windsor Palace as William Peel relinquished his title as Lord Chamberlain.

Peel had overseen all the details of Philip’s funeral, known as “Operation Forth Bridge” [Τέταρτη Γέφυρα]». Earlier, he owed his successor, former MI5 spy chief Andrew Parker, responsibility for the operation.

The official office of Lord Chamberlain, headed by the Royal Auditor, Lieutenant Michael Vernon, was in charge of the practical side of the ceremony last Saturday. However, the undisputed leader was Parker, who took over his new role on April 1, shortly after Peel’s departure after more than 14 years in that position.
