No more search pages: Google will load the results in a continuous feed

A historic event took place – the developers of the Google search engine officially announced that now the giant’s search results will no longer have the usual list of pages with website options. Instead, the company will upload content commensurate with the six original SERPs in a continuous stream of results. And only in the event that the user scrolls all these six virtual pages to the end, the “Details” button will appear in the interface of the search engine to search beyond the above content. It is worth saying that Google has already acted in a similar way last year.

True, then it was about the mobile search application, which also received a continuous scrolling of content instead of the page-by-page search results that many are used to. Now a similar solution has reached desktop systems. And although Google developers are now saying that the innovation will first be implemented exclusively in English-language search in the United States, soon a similar interface design will appear for everyone. Accordingly, now the interface of the search engine is more like social networks, where it is simply impossible to get to the conditional end of the feed.

There are plenty of reasons to implement this interface design. The fact is that Google has often stated that most search engine users look up to four pages of search results when searching for the necessary content, but no more. In this case, most often the user never switches even to the second page, limiting himself to the issue on the first page of the search. Now there will be no separation between pages, so the user will view more website options for a specific request, potentially consuming more content. This will give Google an opportunity to earn extra money, and websites from pages three to six will have a better chance of getting a reader.

However, it should be understood that the search results algorithms have not changed – the system still shows the websites with the most relevant answers for a specific query first, just the format for demonstrating answers has been slightly changed. This means that the user will still look at the first five to ten websites looking for an answer and no one guarantees that someone will actually scroll to the end of the page in search of the “Read More” button.
