The Kremlin today rejected the conditions it set for negotiations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin US President Joe Biden, who said on Thursday that such a thing would be possible only after Moscow withdraws its troops from Ukraine.
“Biden stated that negotiations would only be possible after Putin leaves Ukraine,” which Moscow “clearly” rejects, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
“The military operation continues,” he added.
However, Peskov added that: “the president of the Russian Federation has always been, is and remains open to negotiations in order to secure our interests.”
“The preferred way to achieve our interests is through peaceful, diplomatic means,” the Kremlin spokesman noted. “THE Putin was, is and remains open to contacts and negotiations”, he concluded, according to what international agencies broadcast and the Athens News Agency relays.
