No, the new PlayStation Plus service will not feature the latest Sony exclusives. The head of the PlayStation explained why

Yesterday, Sony introduced an updated PlayStation Plus subscription service, previously codenamed Spartacus. Recall that already from the second Extra tariff, gamers will have access to exclusives or former Sony exclusives. At launch, these will be Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal. However, new games from Sony’s internal studios will not be included in the subscription on the day of release, as is done with Xbox Game Pass. And the head of the PlayStation Jim Ryan (Jim Ryan) explained why.

No, the new PlayStation Plus service will not feature the latest Sony exclusives. The head of the PlayStation explained why

We feel like we’re in a good virtuous cycle with our in-house studios, where investment brings success, which allows for even more investment, which ensures even more success. We love this cycle and we think our players love this cycle.

As far as hosting our own games on this service, or any of our services, as soon as they are released… as you well know, this is not the road we have taken in the past. And that’s not the road we’re going to take with this new service. We feel that if we do this with the games we make at PlayStation Studios, this virtuous circle will be broken. The level of investment we need for our studios would be impossible and we think it will be a domino effect. As a result, the quality of the games we make will not be what gamers want.

At the same time, Ryan made it clear that things could change in the future.

Now the world is changing so fast that nothing lasts forever. Who would have said four years ago that you would see top PlayStation exclusives on PC? We started this last year with Horizon Zero Dawn, then Days Gone, and now God of War, an extremely polished and polished version for PC. We’ve had a big critical success and a big commercial success, and everyone has come to terms with what’s going on and they’re perfectly comfortable with it. I look back four years and think no one would have foreseen this.

So at this stage, I don’t want to say anything. All I’m talking about today is the approach we take in the short term. The way our publishing model works right now. But as we all know, things can change very quickly in this industry.
