Probably not but, since it will be broadcast on Raiuno and This is us it seems like a series written on purpose to satisfy the target of the first network, sugary and dramatic at the right point, it is very likely that it will not only work, but also that it will become a stratospheric success. The key, probably, lies in the word makeover, because you need to know how to make renovations, they cannot be a carbon copy of the originals, at most that, in this case, the stylistic features and characteristics of two companies, the American and the Italian, are involved, very different from each other and, for this reason, difficult to adapt in a passive way , without remodeling and even partial reconstruction of the frame.
Starting, therefore, from the benefit of the doubt and from the fact that in We believe us also Cattleya, who produces it in collaboration with Rai Fiction, let’s move on to the rest.
The fiction, which began shooting on February 15 in Rome, will be directed by Luca Ribuoli and written by Sandro Petraglia, Flaminia Gressi and Michela Straniero. To interpret the role of the protagonists, Pietro and Rebecca (her name has remained the same), will be Lino Guanciale and Aurora Ruffino, who probably already know that they will always be compared to Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore. Instead, to interpret their three children will be Dario Aita in the role of Claudio (i.e. the Tato Justin Hartley of the original version), Claudia Marsicano in those of Catherine (Chrissy Metz), e Livio Kone in those of Daniele (the great Sterling K. Brown, who just for This is us took home an Emmy and a Golden Globe).
For the rest, the narrative structure of We will be the same as the original: here too the story will take place, in fact, on several temporal planes that will make it possible to discover the life of parents and children in different moments of their lives, constantly looking for a way to make them happy and grateful for what they have. We, as well as This is us, will cover a very wide span of Italian history – an operation that remembers that of theBrilliant friend – and it will unfold in 12 episodes of 50 minutes each which will be broadcast on Raiuno in six first evenings. To enrich the cast will also be Angela Ciaburri, Leonardo Lidi, Flavio Furno, Timothy Martin, Francesca Agostini, Liliana Fiorelli, Giordana Faggiano and Massimo Wertmüller. Filming will take place in Rome, Milan, Turin and Naples for 23 weeks: while waiting for the fans of the series to scream scandal it is necessary, however, to calm down and have a pinch of confidence. To distribute We internationally it will, after all, be Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution: and if, as happened with SHAME, the Italian version was even better than the original? Time will tell.
