The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Israeli shelling was launched against Syrian military positions in the southern province of Deraa on the night of Monday to Tuesday, but there were no casualties. The strikes came hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there would be “severe” retaliation for an attack on the Lebanese Hezbollah movement that killed 12 children on Saturday in the annexed Golan Heights.
