As reported on Thursday by several Russian media outlets, citing a Nord Stream AG spokesman, the supply of gas through the gas pipeline has been resumed.
The spokesman, however, has said that the restoration of gas flows will be gradual.
Meanwhile, the German gas regulator has said that current gas flows through the pipeline Nord Stream 1 are still at 30% capacity.
The North Stream 1 transports more than a third of Russia’s natural gas exports to Europe and it was critical that the pipeline be brought back online after it was taken out of service for 10 days on July 11 for its annual maintenance.
Markets were skeptical of Russia’s intentions, especially after Russia’s Gazprom cut gas flow through Nord Stream 1 by 60% last month.
