North Korea condemns US attacks against Yemen, says state agency

North Korea condemned recent US attacks in Yemen as an act that violates international law and sovereignty, and that such a movement could never be justified at all, his ambassador said in Yemen on Tuesday, according to North Korean state media.

US attacks were launched by US President Donald Trump last week, aiming at Iran’s aligned Houthis due to the group’s attacks on Red Sea navigation.

The Ministry of Health managed by Houthis reported that the attacks killed at least 53 people, including women and children.

North Korean ambassador Ma Dong Hui, that state news agency KCNA said it was also Pyongyang’s envoy to Egypt, said that Washington “indiscriminately” attacked civilians and properties, mobilizing air and naval forces, including a aircraft carrier.

“The military attack of the United States is a violent violation of the UN and International Law Charter, and is a flagrant violation of territorial sovereignty of another country that cannot be justified at all,” said MA.

“I express great concern with the unlawful and reckless military actions of the United States, which are obsessed with performing geopolitical ambitions… and the condemn and reject strongly,” he added.

The US Department of Defense reported that the attacks reached more than 30 locations and involved combat jets from a red-sea aircraft carrier.
