North Korea criticized on Monday (3) the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, for calling the country “outcast state” in an interview, state media KCNA said. Pyongyang said comments do not help US interests.
The North Korean Foreign Ministry said the country will be vehemently responding to the hostile provocations of the US, according to KCNA.
This is North Korea’s first criticism of the Trump administration since the Republican returned to the White House on January 20, news agency Yonhap said.
The ministry also condemned the new United States Antimissile Defense Shield plan, saying that this makes North Korea strengthen its own military power, KCNA said.
Last week, Trump signed a decree that he “determined a process of developing an American iron dome,” a state -of -the -art US antimysis shield against ballistic, hypersonic, cruise and other air strike forms.
“The idea of a new antimysis defense system, which resembles the spectrum of the dangerous ‘Star Wars’ plan of… Cold War, represents a risk of justifying a arms race under the pretext of dealing with the ‘threat’ of opponents, regardless of Its viability, ”said the North Korean Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to KCNA.
“The increasingly severe global security environment urgently requires that we constantly develop self -defense capabilities based on nuclear disorder.”
