North Macedonia and Serbia are asking for more EU help to tackle irregular migration

Today, North Macedonia and Serbia asked for more help from the European Union to deal with irregular immigration. The interior ministers of the two countries, Pance Toskovski and Ivica Dacic, who met today in the city of Kumanovo, North Macedonia, jointly found that irregular immigrants are entering the two countries from EU member states. “This year we prevented about 7,000 illegal crossings at our borders. We have really done a lot to reduce the overall number of illegal immigrants and we have been praised for that by both the European Commission and the EU. But both North Macedonia and Serbia have the same problem, that is, illegal immigrants are really coming to us from the European Union. We have a specific situation where they are coming to us from the EU. So the EU must help us to solve this issue.
