Northern Macedonia, Albania condemn Russian recognition of Ukrainian separatists

Northern Macedonia and Albania have condemned Russia’s recognition of Donetsk and Luhansk “People’s Republics”.

“I condemn Russia’s decision to recognize Donetsk and Luhansk as self-proclaimed ‘People’s Democracies.’ The Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia Dimitar Kovacevski on Twitter.

“Together with our NATO allies, we call for a solution to the conflict through diplomacy,” he added.

Moreover, late last night, Monday night, Albania condemned Russia’s decision to recognize the secessionist areas in Donbas.

Albanian President Ilir Meta said that “this unilateral action is a clear violation of international law, the Minsk agreements and undermines the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.”

Albanian Foreign Minister Olta Jacka followed suit, and so did the Kosovo leadership.
