The Government of Northern Macedonia, during its meeting today, dismissed Vlado Buckovski from the position of the country’s special representative in the talks with Bulgaria.
So far there is no justification for the government’s decision to oust Vlado Buckovski, who was appointed to the post on December 1, 2020, by the outgoing government of Zoran Zaef.
Vlado Buckovski was the country’s prime minister from 2004-2006.
For more than a year, Bulgaria has been blocking the start of Northern Macedonia’s accession negotiations with the EU due to open ethnic, linguistic and historical differences between the two countries. All the meetings and negotiations between the political actors of the two countries to reach a compromise solution have been fruitless.
