‘Not a single euro went into her travels’ says Italy’s culture minister after uproar over appointment of influencer as unpaid adviser

The Italian Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, had a one-and-a-half-hour meeting with the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, this afternoon at the government building in Rome, Palazzo Chichi. The subject of their conversation was the case of the influencer Maria Garaccia Botcia and her relations with the Italian Ministry of Culture. In a written statement after the meeting, Gennaro Sangiuliano emphasized: “I spoke with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to reiterate the sincerity of the content of my letter to the newspaper La Stampa, which was published today.
