The head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, announced in his Telegram channel that now the agency will call the capital of Japan Tokyo as follows on all Earth remote sensing maps: “TIK-TOKYO”.
Noting the advanced positions of the Japanese Ministry of Defense in proposing the most stupid sanctions, Roskosmos will now call the capital of Japan Tokyo like this: “TIK-TOKYO” on all Earth remote sensing maps.

So the head of Roskosmos reacted to the message that the Japanese Ministry of Defense decided to use the spelling of the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv in the Ukrainian manner.
In Japanese, the spelling of Kyiv is based on a Russian toponym. The name of the capital of Ukraine is written with three katakana characters and is pronounced as “Kiefu”. Now the Ministry of Defense, when using the name of Kyiv, will write it as “Kiu”, based on the spelling and pronunciation in Ukrainian.
