Notes for sites will appear in Chrome. Convenient, they even sync

Back in March, the first hints appeared that Chrome developers were working on implementing notes for saved web pages. They were supposed to become similar to the solution in Microsoft Edge. Now, a Reddit user with the nickname Leopeva64-2 has analyzed the latest version of Chrome Canary and showed what feature of notes on web pages developers from Google see. His message was noticed by Android Police.

Now the implementation is extremely simple (but it may change in the future): the user just needs to select the text on the saved page and call the context menu, and then select the “Add note” option. The next time you visit a bookmarked web page, the browser will automatically display a separate panel of all notes on the right, and the selected text will turn purple. However, according to the insider, this will change in the future – the notes panel will not open automatically, the user will have to click on the appropriate button on their own.

However, to add a note, it is not necessary to select text – you can attach it to an image or just to an empty area.

Notes in the menu can be deleted and edited, but at the moment these options do not work – the innovation is at an early stage of testing and is unstable. The notes are expected to sync across the user’s devices.
