The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira, has already been notified of the three actions that question the approval of the PEC dos Precatórios last week. The last notification took place in the early afternoon of this Monday (8). Now, Lira must respond by 15:00 on Tuesday (9).
There are three actions in the Federal Supreme Court (STF) questioning the approval of the basic text of the PEC dos Precatórios. First, a group of deputies asked the STF to cancel the vote, alleging that the Board of Directors of the Chamber could not have relaxed, hours before, the possibility that deputies on “official mission” could vote remotely. The PDT filed an action with the STF with the same argument.
Deputy Rodrigo Maia (non-RJ party), in addition to this argument regarding the remote voting of congressmen, also stated that voting through an “agglutinative amendment” was illegal as it allowed, in practice, that new passages were added during the analysis of the text in the plenary.
Minister Rosa Weber is the rapporteur of the three actions and determined that the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies explain, within 24 hours, the reasons for the decisions adopted for voting on the PEC dos Precatório. The period starts from the moment the other party involved is notified, which occurred this Monday (8).
