Notis Mitarakis in Washington

The Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Mr. Notis Mitarakis, went to Washington, where he holds a series of meetings from the 23rd to the 25th of May.

Afterwards, Mr. Mitarakis participated in a round table discussion that took place at the Migration Policy Institute, where, among others, the President of the Institute, Mr. Andrew Selee, also participated.

In addition, the Minister of Immigration and Asylum visited the World Bank headquarters, where he met with the Director of Social Protection and Labor of the World Bank, Mr. Michal Rutkowski.

The discussions were held in a constructive atmosphere and focused on the management of Immigration from Greece, the fight against illegal immigration and the promotion of legal immigration, in matters of international cooperation, while Mr. Mitarakis presented the support that Greece has offered to Ukrainian displaced and displaced persons. from Afghanistan.

Finally, Mr. Mitarakis, before leaving for Athens, will have a working lunch with the distinguished diplomat, professor and leading member of US governments in the past, of Greek origin, John Negroponte.
