Impossible to forget that afternoon and evening when one of the symbols of Paristhe cathedral of the French capital. Notre-Dame in flamesby Jean-Jacques Annaud, recounts the 24 hours preceding the morning of April 16, 2019, when the fire was declared under control.
The story reconstructs the challenge that the emergency services had to face. They were notified with considerable delay. It was difficult to transport men and equipment through the Parisian traffic, but also among the hundreds of people who were around the area of the cathedral. And again the problematic working conditions on the historic building already with the scaffolding for the restoration.
The director tells how the fire probably started from a short circuit. Among the images used also those collected among 20 thousand videos shot that day by the French, in addition to the reconstructions in the studio.
The screenplay is by Jean-Jacques Annaud and Thomas Bidegain, the scenography is by Jean Rabasse. The Sky Original movie is on Sky Cinema Uno and Sky Cinema 4k (at 9 and 3 pm on Friday 15 April) and streaming on NOW.
