The restart of the Russian lunar mission will take place this year: Luna-25 will become the first domestic device in modern Russia on a natural satellite of the Earth. This automatic probe is designed for research in the region of the south pole of the moon. And then there will be progress. According to the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, the Luna-26 and Luna-27 missions may be postponed.

“Now it’s about the viability of the Russian orbital constellation.” Roskosmos is focusing on the Earth’s orbit, while lunar missions will have to wait

“As for the mission of the Luna-26 orbiter and the Luna-27 heavy lander, they will probably be adjusted taking into account the fact that in the current situation we will spend the main financial and production resources on increasing the orbital constellation. It’s more important now.” Dmitry Rogozin said in an interview with TASS.

The Director General of Roskosmos also asked to be sympathetic to the possible transfer. “The science this is very important, but now we are talking about the viability of the Russian orbital group, about giving it a new quality, its work as a dual and military group. But we are far from postponing lunar missions.”– added Dmitry Rogozin.
