Five years after the last edition, Now or never returns (finally) to Rai1 with a new cast and the same mission: helping eight old glories of the Italian music scene to get back on track to grasp a new opportunity. The first innovation compared to past editions of Now or never is the master of the house: Amadeus, who has migrated to Discovery in the meantime, leaves his place to Marco Liornia polite face on public television who will try to convey a story of revenge, good music, but also wounded narcissism.
The competitors
This edition of Now or never will bet everything on eight competitors, who are: Antonella Buccistage name of Antonietta Buccigrossi – in her career also a duet with Eros Ramazzotti in the song Loving you is immense for me -; Carlottastage name of Carla Quadraccia, interpreter of catchphrases such as Brake or Jealousy; Pierdavide Caroneformer student of Friends as well as the last to have collaborated with the great Lucio Dalla in 2012; Valerio Scanuwinner of the 2010 Sanremo Festival with the song Every time…but also a name that is not new to television considering his participation in programs such as Such and Such Show And The Island of the Famous; Loredana Erroralso from Friends and performer of the song Girl eyes skywritten for her by Biagio Antonacci; Anonymous Italianpseudonym of Roberto Scozzi, the singer who in the 90s performed wearing a silver mask (among his successes This too is life); I payborn Pacifico Settembre, known for hits such as I’m talking about you, I wish you were mine And You never change; And Matteo Amantia former member of Sugarfree, the band that achieved success in 2004 with the song Kleptomania.
The coaches
The contestants of Now or never they will not be alone. To each of them, in fact, a coach will be assigned – the pairings will be announced during the live broadcast of the first episode, broadcast on Saturday 11 January on Rai1 – together with whom they will be able to build their own path within the program, choosing from time to time the right songs to highlight their talent. These are: Alex Britti, Gigliola Cinquetti, Riccardo Fogli, Marco Masini, Rita Pavone, Patty Pravo, Raf and Donatella Rettorewhich just a Now or never gave rise to an epic argument with Donatella Milani, guilty of accusing her of singing “cartoon songs”.
The program
