The message that the United States strongly supports the “3 + 1” cooperation mechanism between Greece, Israel, Cyprus and the USA, was sent by the US Undersecretary of State, Victoria Nuland.
In a Twitter post, Ms. Nuland thanked the Foreign Ministers of Greece, Israel and Cyprus for yesterday’s brief meeting with them during the lunch given by the Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias, to his counterparts and a little before the tripartite meeting.
It is recalled that shortly after the end of the tripartite meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Greece, Israel and Cyprus, Mr. Dendias met with the American Undersecretary. They discussed the possibilities of further promoting the Greek-American strategic partnership in all areas, as the Greek Foreign Minister stated in a post after the meeting. Also, as noted, they had a productive exchange of views on the situation in Ukraine after the Russian invasion and on developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.
