The family of a 4-month-old baby accuses a nursing technician at the Salgado Filho municipal hospital in Rio de Janeiro of assaulting the boy during a consultation last Sunday (30). The professional’s name was not revealed.
On social media, the baby’s aunt claimed that the employee was drunk during work hours and woke the boy up by slapping him in the face. According to her, other mothers also made similar complaints against the same employee.
“A guy like that shouldn’t even be working taking care of lives, let alone in pediatrics,” the woman wrote.
The boy’s family called the police. The nursing technician was taken to a police station along with representatives from the hospital.
Wanted by CNN the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Health Department reports that the professional has been removed from his activities while the case is being investigated. The hospital management stated that it “vehemently repudiates any and all acts of violence and will do everything possible to ensure that the situation is properly clarified.”
Elevator accident
Also on Sunday, another serious case was recorded at the Salgado Filho hospital. A patient who was hospitalized there died after being trapped for 16 minutes in an elevator following a problem with a door. The man was being transported from the neurosurgery area to the emergency room.
The patient He had a pre-existing chronic illness and was being transferred due to the worsening of his clinical condition. An investigation was opened to look into the case.
