Nvidia unofficially produces fresh batches of GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Pascal GPUs, users of one of the forums found out.

GPU maker Nvidia appears to have resumed production of the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti lineup. At least this is the conclusion reached by a user of the Chinese forum Quasar Zone, writes Wccftech.

It is reported that after the user sent the broken 1080ti to Nvidia, they received a new GTX 1080ti from a newly produced batch in return.

Users suggestedthat Nvidia produced the batch for service needs and the newer versions are not for sale. Nvidia itself has not yet commented on the replacement of the 1080 Ti from the fresh batch.

The first release of the GTX 1080 Ti took place back in March 2017, and the memory capacity is 11GB.

Nvidia in the middle of a crisis

The American tech company has been stuck in a supply shortage since the end of last year. According to preliminary data, the shortage of Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series video cards is unlikely to decrease by the third quarter of 2021. At the same time, the company does not deny that the supply crisis may even drag on until the end of the year.

However, complications did not affect Nvidia’s plans to create specialized video cards for miners. Earlier it became known that the Canadian company Hut 8 bought 60% of video cards for mining from Nvidia. At the same time, the transaction amount was $ 30 million, which covered 60% of sales from those predicted by Nvidia.

It also became known that the line of mining accelerators from Nvidia can be replenished with a new device with a capacity of almost two GeForce RTX 3090 video cards. The price of the new item, according to preliminary data, may be $ 3000.
