The hacker group Lapsus$, which recently stole important data from Nvidia and Samsung, reported that a Microsoft Azure DevOps server was hacked and 37 GB of confidential data was stolen from there. As evidence of this, they posted a 9 GB Zip archive containing internal data on 250 Microsoft projects.
Part of the stolen information is the correspondence of Microsoft employees and various internal documents used by the company’s engineers. At the same time, the files downloaded by the hackers contain the source code of Bing and Cortana, as well as documentation on infrastructure projects, websites and mobile applications. As for Microsoft desktop applications, including Windows, Windows Server and Microsoft Office, they were not affected by the leak.
Microsoft has already confirmed the hack, but the company has yet to announce any action taken against the hackers.
