Nvidia Returns Controversial GeForce Partner Program, But This Time To Fight Intel, Not AMD

The Nvidia GeForce Partner Program started talking about in 2018, when AMD video cards were its goal. As part of the GPP, Nvidia partners received various benefits in exchange for the refusal to release video cards on AMD GPUs within the promoted gaming brands. The controversial program made a lot of noise then, but Nvidia quickly abandoned it. And now, according to the source, GPP is returning, but its target is no longer AMD, but Intel and its graphics accelerators Arc Alchemist.

Nvidia Returns Controversial GeForce Partner Program, But This Time To Fight Intel, Not AMD

Several green partners reportedly indicated that Nvidia is pushing them to release graphics cards based on Intel GPUs with lower performance (the Arc Alchemist line will have four GPUs, the most powerful is expected to compete with the Radeon RX 6700 XT and GeForce RTX 3070 / Ti) – so that video cards based on Nvidia GPUs look better against the background of a competitor.

It is believed that Nvidia is doing this based not on the real capabilities of video cards and their competition, but because of the magic of the Intel brand. For the average consumer, products bearing the Intel logo are automatically a guarantee of quality. And a high level of trust in many situations can prevail in the selection of components. And supposedly to counter this, Nvidia is restarting its affiliate program.

Unfortunately for Nvidia itself, Intel is not AMD, and it just won’t work to put pressure on the Blue partners, because video card manufacturers are also manufacturers of ready-made devices based on Intel processors, which are produced on a disproportionately large scale. All in all, the battle between Nvidia and Intel promises to be very interesting. But AMD should not be disregarded either.
