Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti on sale May 26, GeForce RTX 3070 Ti from early June. Both – with mining protection
New details about the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti video card have appeared on the Web – now we have a start date for the sale of this model. According to a source citing Taiwanese video card manufacturers, sales of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will start at 9 pm on May 26, and the embargo on reviews will be lifted a day earlier – then it will become clear what this model will be able to demonstrate in games. Well, in early June, Nvidia will release another video card – the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti.
The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti was reportedly originally built on a GA102-250 GPU with the same number of CUDA cores as the GeForce RTX 3090. And that version had 20 GB of GDDR6X memory with a 320-bit bus. But after seeing the not very impressive performance results of the Radeon RX 6900 XT, Nvidia decided to cut the parameters of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti – as a result, it received 10,240 CUDA cores instead of 10,496 and 12 GB of GDDR6X memory, but with a 384-bit bus. Also, in the new version of the 3D card, hardware protection against mining is implemented: as soon as such a process is determined, the performance will automatically decrease by 50%.
The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is reportedly built around a GA104-400 GPU with 6144 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6X memory. She will also have hardware protection against mining.
