Nvidia: The automotive industry will start using the metaverse in 2023

U.S. GPU manufacturer Nvidia has published a forecast stating that in 2023, many automotive companies will use the metaverse in their work.

Nvidia has presented two options for how it will look. According to the first, companies will use the tools of the metaverse to control the entire process of car production. This will allow them to improve machines more easily and efficiently. The factories will use digital twins of cars, which will speed up the modernization process. In addition, designers will be able to interact in the virtual space using realistic car models.

In the second scenario, Nvidia assumes that the metaverse will help automotive customers become more familiar with their products. They will be able to use full-fledged car configurators in 3D simulation: assemble and test them. All this will help the buyer to get to know the car better, and the company to better present its product.

“These technologies will bridge the gap between the physical and digital as the shopping experience changes to include both physical marketplaces and interaction with the virtual world,” the statement says.

Recall that in September, car manufacturer Ford filed 19 trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for virtual SUVs, trucks and clothing.
