The Kiwi torque corrects as the US dollar (USD) recovers some of its intradic losses. Meanwhile, the next trigger for the US dollar will be the speech of the president of the Federal Reserve (FED), Jerome Powell, which is scheduled for Thursday. Investors want to know if the Fed has become moderate in the perspective of interest rates in the light of the decrease in inflationary pressures and the agreement between the US and China to reduce tariffs by 115% for 90 days.
On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump criticized Fed Powell for not lowering interest rates despite the decrease in prices of a significant number of goods.
“Without inflation, and gasoline prices, energy, groceries and practically everything else, are down! The Fed must lower the rate, as Europe and China have done!” Trump said in a publication in Truth Social and added: “What happens to Too Late Powell? It is not fair for America, which is ready to bloom. Just let everything happen, it will be something beautiful!”
In the front of the New Zealand dollar (NZD), the currency is expected to be driven by market expectations about the decision of interest rates of the New Zealand Reserve Bank (RBNZ) in the monetary policy at the end of this month. The RBNZ is expected to lower its official cash (OCR) rate in the midst of uncertainty about the internal perspective.
