OAB lawyer is shot dead in front of the office where he worked in Rio

Lawyer Rodrigo Marinho Crespo was shot dead in front of the office where he worked, on Avenida Marechal Câmara, in the center of Rio de Janeiro, close to the headquarters of the Brazilian Bar Association in the state.

According to the Civil Police of the state of Rio, the case is being investigated by the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC), which requested an examination at the scene.

The authorship or motivation of the crime is not yet known.

In a statement, OABRJ lamented the death and stated that the organization's president, Luciano Bandeira, “is following the development of the case and is in contact with the state's Secretary of Public Security.”

Rodrigo Marinho Crespo was a partner at Marinho & Lima Advogados since January 2022. He was also a member of the Civil Procedure Committee of the Instituto dos Advogados Brasileiros and wrote about regulation of the Brazilian betting market on his social networks.

The president of OABRJ, Luciano Bandeira, is following the development of the case and is in contact with the state's Secretary of Public Security, Victor César dos Santos. The Homicide Department is investigating the case.
