The team of the Odnoklassniki social network presented quite a few changes during today’s OK.Update online conference.
One of the major innovations is the redesigned “hybrid” news feed model. Now users will receive recommended publications in it – news from those groups to which the user is not subscribed. It is noted that the hybrid feed is based on an updated recommendation system based on machine learning and filtering technologies.
Also, a separate vertical content feed will appear in Odnoklassniki. It will become available in iOS and Android apps at the end of 2021. This feed will show featured posts with vertical content – short videos, photos, and GIFs.
A new cooperation scheme is presented for content authors. By the end of 2021, the social network team will launch a new content selection technology that will be able to automatically highlight interesting authors, groups and content, providing them with additional coverage.
In early 2022, a major update is planned for the Moments disappearing photo and video service. Such publications will be able to make not only the users themselves, but also all groups in the social network. Official groups will be able to add any links to moments, regardless of the number of subscribers.
Odnoklassniki will soon have a redesigned publication editor with new tools for formatting text – you can apply different styles (italics, highlighting, underlining), add separators, lists, as well as quotes and captions to photos. The new features are planned to be rolled out gradually over the coming months.
A dynamic menu will start working in mobile applications, the same was announced earlier for the social network VKontakte – it will adapt to the interests of the user.
Another innovation – by the end of 2021, users will be able to pay for goods of groups and business profiles right inside the social network, using the built-in payment system.
In addition, the developers presented a full-fledged service for selling goods through video broadcasts. It is now available on all platforms and allows you to display product cards directly inside the video player, either individually or as a list in a carousel format.
