Greek households had the second largest income increase among OECD countries (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development), according to data released today by the Organization.
The real per capita income of Greek households increased by 5% compared to the second quarter of 2021, while on average in the OECD countries it increased by 0.2%.
The largest increase in income was recorded in Austria (8.6%), while Greece is followed by Australia (4.4%), Poland (3.7%) and the Netherlands (3%).
The third quarter of 2021 also saw a 1% increase in per capita GDP in OECD countries.
Real per capita GDP in OECD countries marginally (by 0.1%) exceeded its pre-pandemic level, while real per capita household income exceeded by 4% the level of the fourth quarter of 2019.
In all OECD countries, with the exception of Finland and Ireland, the increase in per capita household income, cumulatively from the fourth quarter of 2019, was greater than the increase in per capita GDP, with the difference ranging from 0, 8 percentage points for Italy up to 10.4 am for Canada.
