Offender involved in the cigarette mafia is investigated for death of lawyer in Rio

The criminal Adilson Oliveira Coutinho Filho, known as Adilsinho, is one of the targets of search and seizure warrants from the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC) this Tuesday (9) due to possible involvement in the death of Rodrigo Marinho Crespo.

Crespo was executed in the center of Rio de Janeiro by a man who got out of a vehicle and shot the lawyer several times.

In total, DHC carries out searches and seizures at 21 addresses linked to ten people being investigated for being part of the criminal organization headed by Adilsinho, which operates in the exploitation of illegal gambling and the irregular trade of cigarettes and which would also be responsible for the lawyer's death.

In addition to the offender, four military police officers were linked to Marinho's execution: two from the Duque de Caxias Battalion (15th BPM), one from Belford Roxo (39th BPM) and a fourth that was assigned to the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro ( Allerj).

During the action, which has the support of the Military Police Internal Affairs, a person was arrested in the act for illegal possession of a firearm.

In the first phase of the investigation, three people had already been arrested. Eduardo Sobreira Moraes and Cezar Daniel Mondego de Souza were, according to the police, responsible for monitoring the victim before the execution. Military police officer Leandro Machado Silva is accused of having rented the vehicle used in surveillance.
