Official Olympic mascot is ousted by Brazilian doll; understand

Little Kitty TV Globo’s Olympic mascot, conquered the internet and even surpassed the Phryge the official mascot of the Paris Olympics. The doll, which is a cat, will make its debut on the Central Olímpica program, this Friday (26), but has already appeared during a call, which was enough to win fans on social media.

The character had already been introduced in June of this year, however, it captivated the web with the proximity of the opening of the Olympic Games.

In addition to his name referring to a French dessert, the doll wears a striped blouse, a red scarf and has a French accent. It is worth mentioning that Gatô appears behind a counter, just like Louro Mané, from the program Mais Você, which is also part of the Brazilian channel.

On X, the old Twitter, internet users compared the character with the official mascot and showed their preference for the Brazilian doll. See:

Even the official profile of Turma da Mônica joined the trend and declared that Mingau and Mostarda — two characters from the cartoon — are already bestiesthat is, Petit Gatô’s best friends.
