During the live broadcast of the launch, Mikhail Kaigorodov, commercial director of the British company OneWeb in Russia, announced interesting news for Russian users: OneWeb communication services will be technically available from the territory of Russia at the end of 2021.

Mikhail Kaigorodov said:

The eighth launch from the Vostochny cosmodrome will increase the satellite constellation up to 254 spacecraft and provide coverage of the earth’s surface above 50 degrees north latitude, including the Arctic zone and practically the entire territory of the Russian Federation. ”

The eighth OneWeb launch will take place in July. After yesterday’s successful launch, the press service of Roscosmos reported:

There are now 218 OneWeb spacecraft in space to provide terrestrial consumers with high-speed Internet directly via satellite. The company plans to launch hundreds more. ”

Kaigorodov also noted that after the completion of alpha and beta testing of the system, “OneWeb will be fully ready to provide commercial services in this territory.” The top manager emphasized:
