Rumors that Samsung will abandon the proprietary Tizen OS used in current smartwatches in favor of Google’s Wear OS have been officially confirmed. During the Google I / O 2021 conference, which is currently taking place in the United States, the American company spoke about the cooperation of the two firms in a new direction.

So, Samsung’s new smartwatches will switch from Tizen to Wear OS, but Google believes that this is only for the best: there will be more applications for smartwatches, the speed and battery life will improve. Of course, the interface will change too. And, most likely, completely.
The first model of Samsung smartwatches running Wear OS will be the Galaxy Watch 4. The premiere of the new item is expected in July this year, along with the company’s new flagship smartphones.
