Representatives of the Montenegrin government met with representatives of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), discussing, among other things, the future fate of the co-founder of the TERRA project that collapsed two years ago. The United States is seeking the extradition of the businessman.

The SEC delegation was led by Director of Investigations Gurbir Grewal. The guests were received by the Minister of Justice of Montenegro Andrzej Milovic. The reason for the visit of Commission employees to Podgorica was cooperation for the protection of investors and supervision of financial markets.

Officials from the two countries discussed the results of the SEC's investigation into Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon. Gurbir Grewal spoke about the results of the investigation and ongoing legal proceedings against Kwon in the United States. The SEC is pleased with the progress in the case, but the question of whether Kwon will be extradited to the United States remains unresolved. The meeting participants did not disclose the agreements reached.

On April 10, the Podgorica High Court again decided to extradite Do Kwon. The ruling states that the court did not find legal contradictions that would prevent the businessman from being sent “to Korea or the United States,” since all the requirements of national legislation on the extradition of the Terraform Labs co-founder suspected of fraud were met.
