Oi again postponed the release of the financial statements for the first quarter of 2022, citing audit difficulties related to the asset sale process, but reported some preliminary figures for the period.
The publication of the results, which had already been postponed and was expected for this Tuesday (21), was for June 28, according to a material fact from the telecommunications company released on Monday (20) at night.
According to data that are still subject to completion of the audit work, Oi’s net revenue totaled R$4.383 billion in the first quarter of 2022, practically stable compared to the same period in 2021.
The operating result measured by routine Ebitda (earnings before taxes, interest, depreciation and amortization), which excludes extraordinary items, totaled R$ 1.22 billion in the quarter, from R$ 1.128 billion a year earlier.
The company, which is undergoing judicial recovery, said that it ended the first quarter with a cash position of R$ 1.983 billion, a 34.5% decline in the year-on-year comparison.
The data includes only the company’s Brazilian operations, which represent the majority of the revenues generated by Oi.
In the fourth quarter of 2021, only R$46 million of the company’s consolidated net revenue came from abroad, against R$4.5 billion locally.
Earlier this month, Oi concluded the sale of a stake in the fiber optic company V.tal to the BTG Pactual group, while it closed the sale of mobile telephony assets to rivals Claro, TIM and Telefônica Brasil in April.
