Brazil’s oil production in November totaled 2.85 million barrels per day, compared to 2.78 million bpd in the previous month, the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) reported on Thursday.
Pumping also increased compared to November 2020, when extraction totaled around 2.75 million bpd, according to data from the regulator.
The production of natural gas, in turn, totaled 136.58 million cubic meters of natural gas per day (m³/day) in November, compared to 131.7 million m³/day in the previous month and 126.4 million m³ /day a year earlier.
In a statement, the ANP highlighted that production in the Cessão Onerosa fields, in the Santos Basin pre-salt, surpassed, in November, the mark of 1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d).
“It was the highest percentage of participation in national production ever registered, corresponding to 27.05% of the national total, which was 3,710,774 boe/d in the month”, said the ANP.
The fields of the Transfer of Rights contract that they currently produce are Búzios, Atapu, Sul de Tupi and Sépia. The Búzios field produced 738,844.87 boe/d, Atapu recorded 157,793.84 boe/d, Sul de Tupi produced 63,752.57 boe/d, and Sepia produced 43,403.11 boe/d in November.
The highlight given to the Transfer of Rights comes one day before the ANP once again offers to the market in auction excess volumes of oil from the transfer of rights, from the Sépia and Atapu fields. The assets did not arouse interest in an auction held in 2019 and are once again offered by the government with more attractive rules.
