Oil production in Brazil exceeds 3 million barrels per day for the first time since January

Oil production in Brazil in August was above 3 million barrels a day for the first time since January, according to data published by the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) this Thursday (13).

The volume totaled 3.087 million barrels per day, up 4.1% from July and 3% from the same month last year. It was the second consecutive increase from the previous month.

Natural gas production in August was 139,963 million cubic meters per day (m3/d), compared to 135,630 in July and 136,596 in the same month of 2021.

Adding the production of oil and natural gas, the country extracted 3.967 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d).

In the pre-salt, production in August was 2.966 million boe/d, corresponding to 74.8% of the national total, according to the ANP.

The Tupi field produced 1.046 million boe/d, equivalent to 26.4% of the national total, while Búzios produced 719.63 thousand boe/d, corresponding to 18.1% of the national total. Both are operated by Petrobras.
