Oil production in January rises 6.5% and breaks record, shows ANP

Brazil set a new oil production record in January, reaching an average of 3.274 million barrels per day (bpd), surpassing the month of October 2022, when 3.148 million bpd were produced, the highest volume ever recorded so far, he said. the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).

In total, added to the gas produced in the country, production reached 4.175 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), of which 143.215 million cubic meters of natural gas (m3/d).

The record was possible thanks to the 6.5% increase in oil production compared to the previous month and 8% compared to January 2022.

In natural gas, production grew 2.2% compared to December 2022 and 4.2% compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the pre-salt, production in January was also a record, 3.168 million boe/d, and corresponded to 75.9% of Brazilian production. 2.489 million bpd of oil and 107.8 million m3/d of natural gas were produced through 141 wells.

There was an increase of 6.1% in relation to the previous month and 8.8% in comparison with the same month of the previous year.

The Tupi field, in the Santos basin pre-salt, was the largest oil and gas producer, registering 804.4 thousand bpd of oil and 38.54 million m3/d of natural gas.

The facility with the highest production of oil and natural gas was the FPSO Guanabara, which produced 170,732 thousand bbl/d of oil and 10.97 million m3/d of natural gas in the shared Mero field.

In January, the use of natural gas was 97.1%. 50.96 million m3/d were made available to the market and 4.15 million m3/d were burned.

There was an increase in burning of 11.8% compared to the previous month and 28.3% compared to January 2022.
